Ron’s extensive background and education in fiction and nonfiction writing led him to innovate the revolutionary medium of Emotobooks. Grit City is

GCP’s maiden EmotoSerial. When not writing, he runs GCP for others to find publishing success and uses his free time to read fantastic stories or dole out writing advice. When weather permits, you can find Ron biking, hiking, of fishing in the outdoors of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Grit City is a dark and calamitous world, where the nefarious rule. Dillon Galway is an idealistic freelance journalist in his mid-twenties, who barely scrapes out a living reporting on corruption for the Grit City Times and his own blog. Dillon remembers the city as an ideal place to live, before the murder of his Father and the rise of the Syndicate. All meaningful power in business, politics, and law enforcement are now funneled into the hands of this wealthy organization.

He works tirelessly to reestablish opportunity and peace, and relies on the sexy and sultry Alyssa Stephano (gun for hire) to help when situations require her nickel plated Colt .45 revolvers. But in the shadows of the back alleys, whispers stir in the underground of an unnamed force. Something or someone that’s determined to upset the status quo.

Born and raised in Sharon Pennsylvania, Zach’s been an artist since his playground days, pouring his imagination on paper, and fulfilling his dreams of

comics success. These dreams led him to gain a B.S. in art from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His love for all things cartoon forces him to see the world as a hijinks filled character. These ideals drew Zach into the Emotobook world of GCP, where possibilities are limitless.

Editing published books as she reads and an avid art connoisseur, it's no mystery that Alexis chose to immerse herself into the Emotobooks world to edit

for Grit City Publications. She graduated summa cum laude from Ellis University in Chicago with a BA in English and Professional Writing. When she's not spending time with her wonderful husband and adorable son, she devours fiction in every form.

When Dillon is tipped about horrifying activities he’s propelled into a perilous investigation that may lead to dire consequences. He will face unfathomed challenges, but also gain abilities most consider impossible.

The creators of Grit City are forging new territory for writers and artists. The edgy quality of the serialized tales lend themselves perfectly to the new medium Grit City's creators are calling Emotobooks. The central characters, Dillon and Alyssa, are vividly and evocatively depicted, their stories are engrossing and visceral, and the reader can't help but keep turning the pages.

Ron Gavalik and the creative team applies an even hand in bringing back the genre of pulp noir in Grit City, but with a little something extra thrown in. Visceral and engaging, Grit City is a fresh take on the cross-genre of mystery and urban fantasy.

I absolutely loved this new way of reading! Grit City is really dark and morbid but deliciously riveting. As it is a short read I found it was really fast paced. It gave you a feel for Dillon then jumped into a dangerously fascinating story. I found the illustrations to be just as descriptive and mesmerizing as they were sinister and ominous, but done in a way that the images were crucial to the story.
